Last year, over 1,700 clients came to Postive Resource Center (PRC) seeking assistance with disability benefits counseling or employment services. In this boom time in San Francisco we are proud to have leveraged new resources that came from a thriving local economy. Remaining focused on our mission, we have increased our level of services to those for whom the economy has not been a pathway out of poverty. Equal Access to Health Care Program
Starting December 1, 2014, Positive Resource Center will open its computer lab for health insurance enrollment and renewal through Covered California to S.F. residents who are HIV-positive. The drop-in hours will be 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The computer lab comes equipped with 11 computer work stations, internet access, and printer. A lab attendant will be available to provide technical assistance, and counselors will be available to provide brief consultations about insurance options as well as premium and drug assistance programs.
To streamline enrollment, make sure to bring the following items:
- Social Security number
- Most recent tax returns
Make sure to enroll in health insurance by December 15, 2014 for coverage starting January 1, 2015!
There are at least two really wonderful things happening in the month of November – Open Enrollment begins & PRC starts a Blog!! I know, I know, you’re probably just as surprised as I am, but, with so much good news to share, we just couldn’t keep it to ourselves.
Starting November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015, individuals may enroll online for health insurance through Covered California. While this open enrollment period presents a fantastic opportunity to gain access to health insurance, many individuals may feel overwhelmed by the enrollment process and need a little extra assistance. Positive Resource Center (PRC) is here to help.
Starting in November, PRC will open its computer lab to San Francisco residents who are HIV-positive for online health insurance enrollment from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday through Friday. During these hours, health access counselors will be available to provide brief consultative services to answer questions about insurance options as well as premium and drug assistance programs.
The enrollment lab is being made available through PRC’s new Equal Access to Health Care Program (EAHP), which aims to identify and overcoming barriers to health access for San Francisco’s HIV-positive community.
